Rituals once celebrated under the moonlight, in connection with the earth and the changing seasons, are now fading, blurred by globalization and cultural homogenization.
Timeworn is a triannual magazine that documents, in print, traditions and collective rituals connected to the natural elements —air, earth, fire, and water— as well as folk songs and characters. These are told through stories and anecdotes, with a local perspective and a focus on those that are lesser-known and endangered, passed down orally.
It’s a map of collective memory and a commitment to keep sharing and celebrating the traditions and rituals that make us unique, wherever we are in the world.
