This book tells the story of Teresa Bachs i Sitjes (1928), of her family woven with tenderness, nostalgia, and sadness and, at the same time, it is a portrait of an entire generation.
Written by Paula Serra, writer and journalist, the book recounts the life of her great-aunt. After three years of conversations with Teresa, her children, and grandchildren, along with research in archives and collections, this deeply personal and historical book came to life.
Told in Teresa’s own voice and expressions, the book called for intimacy, closeness, and pauses, echoing the title. Family photographs run through the book like a connecting thread, accompanied by the story told chronologically and footnotes offering historical context.
The book comes with a folded poster, inspired by a newspaper page from that era, built from years of field research and historical investigation.
